The Africa Alliance of YMCAs (AAYMCA) is embarking on an exciting journey to renovate its office space in Nairobi, creating a dynamic, modern, and inclusive environment that fosters innovation and collaboration. This transformation will support AAYMCA’s mission of empowering young people across Africa through its groundbreaking initiatives, including the PowerSpace methodology and Africa Renaissance Hub.

With a vision to design a youthful and energetic workspace, the renovation project aims to accommodate at least 40 individuals for training sessions while integrating state-of-the-art technology and innovative design elements. A special highlight of the renovation is the dedicated studio space for multimedia activities, supporting creative content production and digital storytelling.

The new office will prioritize accessibility, ensuring that persons living with disabilities can navigate the space with ease. Additional features include soundproofing for an optimized work environment, a kitchenette for convenience, and redesigned modern restrooms. The project will also incorporate smart technology, from interactive displays to advanced audio-visual systems, reinforcing AAYMCA’s commitment to future-ready spaces.

The call for proposals is now open for contractors with expertise in office renovations, with a submission deadline of March 12, 2024. The selected contractor will help bring this vision to life, with the project expected to run from April 15 to June 15, 2024.

This renovation is more than just a physical transformation—it is a step towards creating a vibrant hub for young change-makers across Africa. Stay tuned as the Africa Renaissance Hub takes shape, setting the stage for inspired learning, innovation, and impact!
