Just two weeks after graduating as a YMCA Change Agent and about a year into my role as a Subject to Citizen Ambassador, I've already seen how much the Y is influencing my journey. The capacity building trainings I received have significantly improved my skills as a youth leader, allowing me to share my insights, advocate and take proactive steps to achieve positive change.I now apply frameworks like the S2C model and human-centered design to tackle urgent social issues in my community.
I also had the honor of representing my country🇿🇲and the YMCA at the 4th edition of the African Union Commission Pan African Youth Forum in Oran, Algeria, from the 1st to the 4th. This event gathered young leaders from across Africa to discuss the vital role of youth participation in democracy, civil engagement, and education. I was able to contribute to discussions and share my experiences and insights on the importance of youth involvement.
I am incredibly thankful to My Y(tag Zambia ymca), the African Alliance(tag), and the World YMCA(tag) for the invaluable training, mentorship, capacity building and support. I am dedicated to being a Change Agent who ensures that all youth voices are heard and advocates for a just world for everyone.
