The African Renaissance Scholarship, offered by the Africa Alliance of YMCAs, is a transformative initiative designed to empower young Africans with relevant education for improved livelihood opportunities. Aligned with the YMCA’s vision of fostering the African Renaissance, the scholarship supports talented youth from vulnerable backgrounds to pursue higher education at the Bachelor’s and Master’s levels. By equipping scholars with skills, knowledge, and opportunities, the program aims to mold them into active citizens who drive positive change in their communities, nations, and the African continent.
The scholarship, funded by Bread for the World, addresses educational barriers, particularly for women and marginalized groups, in countries like Kenya, Niger, and Togo. It promotes gender equality, inclusion, and sustainable development, ensuring scholars contribute to the holistic transformation of their societies.
