South Africa YMCA was established in 1942. It has grown through the years to become one of the strongest movements on the continent. It has 14 active local association spread across the country.  It currently enjoys full membership status with the Africa Alliance of YMCAs.  It has a 9 member staff comprised of 6 full time and 3 part time.  Functional secretariat is composed of 3 out of the 9 staff members.
