Evelyne’s involvement with the YMCA dates back to 1995 when she started as a volunteer. Evelyne holds a Master’s degree in English Studies from Cheikh Anta DIOP University in Dakar. She continued her education in Project management, Monitoring & Evaluation and in Human Rights.As a result of her selfless commitment, she quickly took up the responsibility of gender representative, as the initiator and lead person of the national gender committee.
She later joined the staff of the national movement; her experience gained through participating in various youth forums and training at national and international level was fully invested in the organisation both in-country and internationally. After moving to other professional occupation, Evelyne remained a YMCA volunteer and has been serving in the Senegal YMCA and Africa Alliance Executive committees since 2006.
Over the last ten years, Evelyne has been involved with Save the Children in various capacities encompassing administration, communications and programme work. Currently working as a Programme Officer, Evelyne’s responsibilities include a wide spectrum of children’s rights i.e. the right to education, civil society organizational development, rights-based planning and budgeting, HIV and AIDs, and gender-based violence.
