On behalf of Africa Alliace of YMCA, we take this opportunity to join the rest of the World in mourning the death of an African Icon, the late Dr Kofi Annan, the Former Secretary General of the United Nations.
youth empowermentDr Annan  was one of the few African statesmen  who had their all in fighting for peace and cohesion in the region. Kenyans will forever remember his contribution to a peaceful agreement that led to the formation of a coalition government an end to mayhem following the disputed elections of 2007/2008.
He was an ardent believer in the capacity of the Ghanaian to chart his or her own course onto the path of progress and prosperity.
The world has lost not only a great African diplomat and humanitarian but also a conscience keeper of international peace and security.
Undoubtedly, he excelled in the various undertakings of his life, leaving in his trail most pleasant memories.
We pray that the Almighty God will grant the family, friends and relatives strength during this trying moment. May God Rest His soul in eternal peace.
