Father’s Day 2018 loading……
Our theme this year is: Dad’s for Dignity
Father’s Day is around the corner, Its celebrated on 17th June each year. With this special event comes a lot of warm thoughts about safety, security, heroes, being a good provider…the list can go on. Those positive thoughts and sentiments are felt and shared by many. But sadly, not all. Especially in a society overburdened with absent fathers, lack of protection in the ever-increasing violence against women and the girl-child and with that, an ever reality of the lack of men as good role models. Even in the presence of rising gangsterism which undermines basic dignity and rights to safety and security. For woman and child alike.
This year’s theme is centered on recognising, celebrating and yet also challenging Dads who will take their stand as power gatekeepers and use that to challenge, promote and take a lead. A lead to use their power to fight key issues which undermines or disempowers dignity and honor of women, girl and boy-child.
Africa YMCA together with PAWA254 will on Saturday 16th hold a Fathers day celebration at Africa YMCA building at the rooftop. Come celebrate Father’s Day with us as together with your families, we celebrate our #Dads4Dignity special theme this year.
